How to photograph Wildflowers | Flower Photography

I show how I photograph British Wildflowers around the Malvern Hills, Worcestershire in this Flora Photography video. As the weather is idea for wild Spring flowers, I get out and give you some photography tips on how to get some great photos of wildflowers and grasses using extension tubes.

Over the past few months the weather has been very poor for landscape photography so as it was overcast and the wild spring flowers are just coming out, I made the most of it and photographed wildflowers in my local area.

Thank you for watching. I hope you enjoy this video.

Lovely images John, I really enjoyed the video. Your flowers are way ahead of us up here, we’re a good couple of weeks away from the bluebells and garlic showing. I do love the scent they give off in the early morning. All the best from a wet and cold Scotland.

That was a bit different but thoroughly enjoyed. However your photography H&S record is a poor one John! 🙂

Stinging nettles won’t do much harm but ticks can transmit Lyme disease. It’s not a bad idea to tuck your trouser bottoms into your socks.

    Hi John,

You Mentioned that the light was dull and boreing. I was a Wedding Photographer and really loved light like this.
The people reading this who are weekend photographers may not understand. No disrespect intended.

This light was not good for the bride as they all want brilliant sunshine on the day but, for a Photographer it
is hard work. The contrast between the white of the brides dress and the dark of the grooms suit in sunshine
is beyond the point that film could manage.

This type of light goes somewhere to evening out that contrast, as I’m sure you know.

    Great video. Many thanks.

    regards,

    Bill.

"Taking photographs of wildflowers is extremely dangerous!" Haha! Thanks for the laugh, that is actually quite true in our neck of the woods too! I enjoyed your video, the photographs are beautiful and it’s lovely where you live!
